Meeting Ted Cruz, Health Care, and Independence Day

Yet again, I have neglected my little blog... I know what you're all thinking, "With the Health Care ruling from the Supreme Court why hasn't she posted?" Well that is because I have as always had many other things to do. There are so many thing that I will try and put in this post I wouldn't blame you if you stooped reading. Here, let me bullet point a few things,

  • I was (and still am) very frustrated with the Health Care ruling
  • I got my little brother to watch Casablanca and Gone with the Wind (It is noteworthy trust me!)
  • I went to "Rally for Freedom" and heard Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott speak.
  • I met Ted Cruz
  • I had a absolutely wonderful Independence Day, it was the first time I had been home for it in 2 years!
  • I got a job!

So let me just quickly talk about each one of these points,

Health care: Wow. I could not believe it. Really I could not. I cried. What makes me all the more sad is that practically no one in my generation cares or, even knows. Aside from me and a small handful of informed friends. Just wait. I know they will when they're having to pay literally pay their hard earned money for it! I wrote a letter to my future children about it. I want them to know what a place America is. I want them to be able to love the America that I love. I want them to be able to go to a parade on the Fourth of July and be free to wave the beautiful flag, I want them to be able to say the pledge of Allegiance and be free to do so. I want them to be able to worship God, the Creator of this place. I could write many blog posts on this subject alone.

My little brother watching Gone with the Wind and Casablanca: Well it was an exchange really... I told him if he watch those with me, I would watch Lord of the Rings with him (I've never seen them) He actually liked them both, so that made me very happy! :)

Rally for Freedom: Was really awesome, it was very neat to hear all these people who are State Reps. in Texas talk about Health Care and hear the Attorney General speak about it too! I was able to ask a question of the panel of State Reps about what are they doing and what can they continue to do to make young people like me aware of how the Health Care decision will affect their lives.

Meeting Ted Cruz: Wow. That was so awesome! I went to a rally that he spoke at and was able to meet him and he signed my National Review with him on the cover he signed it to "Meg" I got my picture with him! It was oh so very awesome!!

Independence Day: Started out with me waking up and reading the Declaration of Independence before I even got out of bed and ended with fireworks-- literally. It is on of hte best things in the world to watch fireworks with your closest family and friends while you are celebrating the best nation in the world. Ever. I hadn't be home for the forth in 2 years so it was all the better.

I applied for a job about on Monday and they offered it to me today. I am very blessed.

At the end of July, I get to go to not one but TWO awesome events! I am going to FREE PAC which is an event with: Glenn Beck, Ted Cruz, Michelle Malkin, and many others. Then on the 28th I am going ot Glenn Beck's "Restoring Love" I really can't wait for both of them!!

We are hosting a French exchange student and she gets here tomorrow! I can not wait! :)

Meeting Ted Cruz! :)

Knee Deep

Wow. I really need to get back into blogging... I have missed it!
There is just so much going on in the political world with the Wisconsin recall, The Presidential election, and about a billion other things... However, I must confess, I've been a little out of the political world the last month with Anne and going to Mexico. So for this post I will simply update you all on my life of late and maybe a little politicalness here in this (for those of you who know me, you know it's hard for me to separate the two...)
Well it's for all practical purposes summer. I still have school and I have to apply at Community College, get my licence, do Math and Chemistry and to top it all off, I need to get a job. So to say the least, my summer will be packed. As I was trying to fall asleep last night, I was so overwhelmed by it all and I had to just give it all over to Jesus because I know he is the only one who will be able to take my burdens from me!
For know though here are a few pictures from my trip to Mexico!

My parents

Veiw from my bed
With that I really must go.
I will try to post tomorrow after the recall results are in :)

"Hello my name is Anne Shirley"

Where have I been blog? Well, that's a fairly simple question to answer, I've been playing the part of Anne in Anne of Green Gables. I won't do a lot of talking and get to the pictures but I would just like to say how much I loved being in that play. I loved everything about it.

Facebook free!

I have recently made up my mind to get off Facebook during the week! It has been nice, I'm getting more school finished and it feels good not to spend 3 hours a day wasting time on Facebook! It also feels good to open a new tab and not see Facebook on my "most visited tabs"

I've also been taking "Constitution 101" from Hillsdale college. It is really good and I'm learning a lot! I highly recommend taking it, you will learn so much about our Constitution and our Founding Father's ideas for establishing a free country!

I also mentioned that I was going to be working a campaign last weekend I did and had a great time I learned a lot! Next month, I am going to be able to meet a candidate running for State Representatives in my district! I am excited!

Rallying for Romney?

Wow. I don't even know where to begin...

As most of you know, I was a big supporter of Rick Santorum. What you also probably know is this, he dropped out of the race for President of the United States on Tuesday. I will not lie to you and say I simply shrugged it off and went on, I cried, that's right, I'm not afraid to admit it I cried. I had never been so wrapped up in a primary campaign as I was in this one. I mean for goodness sakes, I got to meet the man! So, him dropping out of the race did not come easily to me. Yet, I know it's time to rally and work on our main goal of winning back the White House.

It's hard for me to go ahead and back Romney, as my friend says, "It's like marrying another man right after your husband dies, it's just too soon" Don't get me wrong, eventually I will be rallying for Romney (see what I did there) but for now, I need to take a few days to gather my thoughts and recover from the lose. I had to go around taking "Rick Santorum President" off everything I had put in on, my car, my water bottle, my laptop, my desktop background, my facebook profile picture, my facebook cover picture, my yard, my purse, my door, and my portfolio.

In more happy news, I was recently asked to help campaign for a woman who is running for judge in my county. I am going on Saturday to help do just that, campaign!

Also, I was recently elected as Vice-President of my Youth and Government delegation, which is a huge honor and I can not wait to better serve my fellow Y&G delegates!

Also, this weekend, Sunday to be specific, it will be 100 years since the Titanic sank. I'm such a nerd that I decided to write my paper for my writing class on it!

I think that's all I've got time for today! I'll post again soon!

Patriotically,
Meg

Patrick Henry II amongst other things.

I know what you're thinking, "Two post so close together, what's wrong with her?!" Don't worry, I can assure you that I am in control of all my mental faculties...
Anyway, this post won't be long, I just purchased a new laptop for myself so I felt the need to write a blog post with it! :) In case you were wondering I named it Patrick Henry II or, Patchie for short.
Anyway the main reason I write this is to tell you that there is a debate or, "Forum" rather, tonight at 7pm (Central time) on FoxNews. Hope you all can watch it!
